AMWA Water Policy Conference Joins Water Week Line up

AMWA’s Water Policy Conference will be joining Water Week in 2025! AMWA members should expect the same top tier AMWA programming and opportunity for peer-to-peer networking through its networking breaks and receptions, combined with the benefit of top-notch speakers and an amplified “One Water” voice in the sector.

The 2024 presidential election year will have significant implications on about how the new administration will approach crucial issues such as drinking water regulation, climate change, environmental justice, cybersecurity, and others that profoundly impact the water sector. The AMWA 2025 Water Policy Conference, scheduled for April 7-9 in the nation's capital at the Hilton Washington D.C. National Mall, will furnish utility leaders with a legislative and regulatory outlook, allowing them to engage with senators and representatives on issues critical to public water utilities.

The program will highlight:

  • Members of Congress leading key committees;
  • Administration officials at the EPA and other federal agencies;
  • Washington insiders well-versed in the political landscape; and
  • AMWA staff, who will provide their insights on relevant federal priorities such as emerging contaminants and lead service line replacements.

According to the General Manager of Fairfax Water, Jamie Bain Hedges:

“AMWA meetings are a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and lessons learned with colleagues at other large utilities. The political and regulatory presentations and Q&A helped identify areas of mutual interest and concern where we can work together to pursue improved public policy and communications from regulators.”

So, save the date, plan to attend AMWA’s 2025 Water Policy Conference, and watch for registration and program details in the coming months.
