EPA Announces WaterSense Program

On June 12, 2006 EPA announced a new water efficiency effort called WaterSense. The program targets both consumer education and product certification.

Water Efficiency Leaders Awards Program Seeking Nominations
EPA is accepting nominations for its 2008 Water Efficiency Leaders Awards. The awards will “recognize organizations or individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and innovation in water efficiency.” Nominations are being accepted until Aug. 29, 2008. Winners will be chosen by a panel of national water experts and based on three criteria: leadership, innovation, and water saved. The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense program announce the WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition, which will be held Oct. 8-10, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Register on the WaterSmart '08 website.
Comments Requested On WaterSense New Homes Spec
WaterSense has extended the public comment period for the draft specification for single-family new homes an additional 45 days. The new public comment period will end on September 4, 2008.
