Water and Wastewater Leadership Center

2010 Information and Application

Water and Wastewater Leadership Center is a 12-day residential program sponsored by AMWA and other water sector organizations to prepare and develop leaders and management executives of water and wastewater utilities so that these organizations can meet customers' current and future demands for the highest level of service, quality and efficiency.

The Leadership Center consists of a 12-day residential leadership development program held annually at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Participants learn a wide variety of leadership and management skills through this intensive professional training program and benefit from unlimited peer networking, an online resource center and optional faculty mentoring.

In addition, graduates of the Leadership Center can participate in an additional 2-1/2 day alumni program 18 months after their initial residential program that allows them to refresh, reconnect and reinforce the core elements gained from the program.

The program was established in 2000 as a joint venture of AMWA, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation.

Each session usually begins in the late winter or early spring.  Contact Carolyn Peterson in AMWA's national office at peterson@amwa.net or 202-331-2820, for more information.
