Hotel Reservations:  Reserve your hotel room at the Chateau Sonesta Hotel as soon as possible by calling the hotel directly at 504-586-0800.  Only a limited number of rooms have been set aside for the Annual Meeting.  AMWA’s room rate is $165 for a single or double, plus a 13% sales tax and a $1 occupancy tax.  Each additional person is $40 (includes free in-room high-speed Internet access).  This rate is available only until September 26, 2008.

The hotel has agreed to extend the group rate to AMWA meeting participants three days before and three days after the conference dates, subject to availability.

The Chateau Sonesta Hotel is located at 800 Iberville Street.

Check-in time:
  3:00 p.m.  Reservations will be held for late arrivals when guaranteed by a credit card or a check for one night's stay.  Check-out time is 12:00 p.m.

Cancellation:  Requires 48 hours.  The early departure fee is  $75 plus taxes.

Ground Transportation:
  Ground transportation from Louis Armstrong International Airport is available at the baggage claim area.  Airport Shuttle is a private shuttle service that stops at different hotels in the downtown area and costs $13 per person. Taxicab service is also available at a flat rate of $28.00 for the first 2 passengers and $12 for each additional passenger. Limousine service may be arranged through the hotel concierge desk at 504-586-0800.

Wednesday, October 22 Tour:  Members will be taken on a tour of New Orleans’ flood protection infrastructure, including the largest drainage pumping station in the world, and rebuilt areas of the city.

Spouse/Guest Program: Spouses and personal guests are invited to attend any or all of the evening receptions.  Special outings have been planned for the mornings of Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21 ($50 each day).  The Monday morning outing is a carriage tour of the French Quarter and then a Creole cooking class followed by lunch.  The Tuesday morning outing is a tour of the Garden District and lunch at Commander’s Palace.  The Wednesday morning tour (see above) is open to spouses and guests (at no charge).

Registration Cancellation: A full refund will be made only if the cancellation is received by AMWA on or before October 10, 2008.
